Reports of adverse drug reactions of any type engender fear and skepticism in the public about the actions of the pharmaceutical industry and the FDA. 1

Galactosylated Albumin nanoparticles bearing Cimetidine for effective management of Acetaminophen induced hepatotoxicity
In the present study, an attempt was made to develop galactosylated albumin nanoparticles of Cimetidine for treatment of Acetaminophen induced hepatotoxicity. By developing the galactosylated nanoparticulated delivery of Cimetidine the required action of drug at the target site i.e at liver can be provided. The advantage of targeting helps to reduce the systemic side effects which may ...
متن کاملAntituberculosis Drug-Induced Hepatotoxicity in Iranian Tuberculosis Patients: Role of Isoniazid Metabolic Polymorphism
The aim of this study was to determine the association of n-acetyltransferase-2 polymorphisms and anti-tuberculosis drug-induced hepatotoxicity in Iranian pulmonary tuberculosis patients. Acetylating phenotypes was studied in 50 Iranian pulmonary tuberculosis patients using metabolic ratio of plasma acetyl-Isoniazid to Isoniazid. The association between hepatotoxicity and the n-acetyltransferas...

متن کاملProtective Effects of Eugenol against Hepatotoxicity Induced by Arsenic Trioxide: An Antileukemic Drug
Background: Arsenic trioxide (As2O3) has shown effectiveness in the treatment of leukemia, but it is also associated with hepatotoxicity. Given antileukemic drug-induced oxidative stress and toxicity, this study focused on the mitigatory role of eugenol, a monoterpene compound from clove oil, in the hepatic tissue of Wistar rats. Methods: Twenty-four male Wistar rats (180–250 g) were randomly di...
متن کاملMechanistic approach for thioridazine-induced hepatotoxicity and potential benefits of melatonin and/or coenzyme Q10 on freshly isolated rat hepatocytes
Thioridazine (TZ) is used mainly in the treatment of schizophrenia. However, hepatotoxicity as a life-threatening adverse effect is associated with its clinical use. In this context, we examined the cytotoxic mechanisms of TZ on freshly isolated rat hepatocytes to better understanding of the pathogenesis of TZ-induced hepatotoxicity. Hepatocytes were prepared by the method of collagenase enzyme...
